The first fundraising event hosted was a family day at Armatree Hotel in April 2010. A few hundred locals, family and friends gathered where local Auctioneer Paul Alchin or Christie & Hood auctioned off a huge array of sports memorabilia items to those in attendance. Overall the event was a huge success and raised a massive $35,000 making up a large portion of funds we aimed to raise to purchase specialised beds for the Grace Centre at the Children's Hospital at Westmead. The day would not have been possible without the generosity of local publicans Ash & Lib Walker together with all the businesses and organisations for the supply of the auction items. Autograph Collectables, Men of League Foundation, Roger Federa, Miranda Kerr, Newcastle Knights, Brumbies Rugby and V8 Supercars to name a few.
